You'll enjoy exploring the medieval city "Old Town" enclosed behind the stone walls and ramparts built by the Knights of St John. The gothic Knights Quarter retains the architecture of the crusades and a fine collection of secular buildings of the Collachium. Be sure to see the bronze deer standing in the harbor to commemorate the exact spot where Colossus of Rhodes once stood.

Alexandria, Egypt (Cairo)
Visit the Greco-Roman Museum, Pompeys Pillar, and the Kom-el-Shugafa catacombs. Then travel the Delta Road to Cairo for a memorable day amid the great Pyramids, the Sphinx.

Tripoli, Libya
Capital of Libya with 1,050,000 inhabitants. Is situated in northwestern Libya, not far from the border to Tunisia. Tripoli is a principal seaport, and the commercial centre of Libya. There is some industry, but this is mainly producing for the domestic market. Tripoli is now sole capital of Libya, a position the city shared with Benghazi from independence in 1951 until the 1970s. But even today some governmental activities are performed outside Tripolis, in the city of Sirt.

SORRENTO, ITALY
According to Greek mythology, seductive Sorrento was once the home of wanton Sirens whose mystic song lured enchanted sailors to their demise. In reality, Sorrento is the "Gateway to Pompeii" overlooking the beautiful Bay of Naples. It is an idyllic village of brilliant flowers and pastel cottages along narrow flagstone streets. Shopping along the Via San Cesareo is superb or you may enjoy a sightseeing tour in a horse drawn carrozza.
