ITINERARY

DAY 1 Friday - Arrive in Cairo
Arrive in Cairo (on your own arrangements - Flights NOT included) and transfer to your hotel, the 5 star Concorde El Salam Hotel Cairo, in the Heliopolis area. Balance of the day at leisure.
Transfer from Cairo airport to hotel is not included but may be added to your package for an additional cost.
Overnight: Cairo

DAY 2 Saturday - Depart Cairo and Embark Nile Cruise
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Luxor (flight included). Upon arrival, transfer to board your Nile cruise ship and "hotel" for the next three nights - the Ramses King of the Nile Cruise Ship. Sail to the West Bank of the Nile to visit the Necropolis of Thebes, the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Kings, and the Valley of the Queens. Continue to visit Luxor Temple and the famous Avenue of Sphinxes.
Optional: Sound and Light Show at the Temple of Karnak
Overnight: Cruise (Luxor)

DAY 3 Sunday - Karnak, Cruise to Edfu
Visit the Karnak Temple complex, the world's largest ancient religious site. Following your visit, rejoin the ship and sail this afternoon to Edfu.
Overnight: Cruise (Edfu)

DAY 4 Monday - Edfu, Cruise to Aswan
Travel by horse-drawn carriage to visit the 2000-year-old Temple of Horus. Standing as Egypt's best preserved temple and second largest after Karnak, the Temple of Horus is a compelling construction both in terms of size and intricacy. Afterwards, rejoin the ship and sail to Kom Ombo to see the Ptolemaic Temple, built in honor of gods Horus and Sobek. Sail to Aswan.
Overnight: Cruise (Aswan)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


The Nile River

DAY 5 Tuesday - Return to Cairo
After breakfast, disembark your cruise ship and continue to visit the Aswan High Dam, the granite quarries with the unfinished Obelisk, and Philae's Temple of Isis. If time permits, sail by felucca to view Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Cairo (flight included). Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, the 5 Star Sofitel Le Sphinx, with the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

DAY 6 Wednesday - Cairo
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Cairo.
Optional: Full Day Cairo: Egyptian Museum, Pyramids, Sphinx, Bazaar and lunch; Sound and Light Show

DAY 7 Thursday - Depart for Home
Transfer independently to the airport for your departure flight home. (Flight NOT included).  Return Transfers from hotel to airport in Cairo may be purchased for an additional cost.

Luxor Sound & Light Show Day #2  -- $39.00 per person
Inaugurated in 1972, the show starts with a historical introduction covering the birth of the great city of Thebes and construction of the Karnak Temple, one of the most famous temples in the world. The show also narrates the glorious achievements of some of the great Pharaohs. Spectators listen to a magnificent and poetic description of the artistic treasures and great legacy which the Karnak Temple encompasses. Compare pre-purchase price of $39 to $49 if purchased locally.
Summer: Departs at 8 pm; returns at 9:45 pm.

Cairo Sound & Light Show Day #6 -- $39.00 per person
At sundown, drive to the Sphinx area to attend one of Egypt's most entertaining productions--the Sound & Light Show at the Giza Pyramids. Since 1961, this exhilarating performance has wowed crowds and is a "must" for visitors to Egypt. The show combines ancient Egyptian history with a dazzling display of modern lights and lasers. Compare pre-purchase price of $39 to $49 if purchased locally. 
Summer: Departs approximately 7:30 pm; returns at 10 pm.

Full Day Cairo Day #6 -- $99.00 per person
Visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Khefren, and Mycerinus. Continue to the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Then proceed to the world-renowned Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the world's largest collection of artifacts from the era of the pharaohs including some belonging to King Tut. End the day at the bazaar of Khan El Khalili. Lunch is included. Compare pre-purchase price of $99 to $109 if purchased locally.
